K40 “on-schedule” to finish this year

Construction of Floating life and Italian shipyard Cerri Cantieri Navali’s light ice class expedition yacht, the K40, remains “on-schedule” to finish this year.

The 40 metre superyacht, began construction in January 2016. The vessel is being designed for an American owner as a luxury vessel capable of undertaking lengthy polar expeditions.

The update shows that the hull has been completely sanded, ready for the new four millimetre exterior finish. Propeller-shaft support staffs have been mounted and shaft pre-alignment is now complete.

Tubing for the underlying grill deck, electrical cabling and the garage door has been installed. The main electrics panel, hull and exterior priming and compartment construction is soon to follow. Fuel, fresh water and holding tank preperation treatments are in the final stages.
