Monaco Marine will open two new shipyards in the French Riviera in 2018. The yacht services firm will open one new shipyard in La Seyne-Toulon for superyacht refit and one in Marseille to provide refit and maintenance operations for mega yachts.

The La Seyne-Toulon yard will open in the second half of 2018 and will cost €15 million.

It will be the seventh Monaco Marine shipyard on the French Riviera and will cover 40,000 square metres ground area and 14,645 metres water area. The shipyard will support superyachts of up to 55 metres.

The yard will also feature a slipway, a lifting tool with a capacity of 500 tonnes, and a covered shed for projects that require humidity and climate control. The yard has a capacity of 28 yachts ashore and afloat.

Monaco Marine will continue to expand its yacht support services and widen the scope of yachts it covers. A public occupation authorisation (AOT) has been given to Monaco Marine to continue to invest in the La Seyne-Toulon site and expand to accommodate megayacht operations by 2019.

The Marseille shipyard will support yachts of up to 140 metres and will open at an unspecified date in 2018. It features a 320-metre dock and two workshops covering 250 square metres each. The entire site will be 8,700 square metres of ground area.

This new yard will create a network of eight refit and maintenance yards on the Riviera to support its base of “very high demanding international class customers” coming to the region.
