The Isle of Man Department for Enterprise has appointed current deputy director Cameron Mitchell as the next director of the Isle of Man Ship Registry, effective 1 April.

Mitchell is replacing the current director, Dick Welsh, who is retiring.

Prior to this appointment, Mitchell  worked with shipping operators Maersk, Geest Line and Farstad Shipping for over 10 years as an engineer as well as  holding previous roles at the Isle of Man Ship Registry.

‘I have seen a number of positive changes take place at the Isle of Man Ship Registry over my time here, including playing a major role in establishing regulatory best practice all the while amassing over 70 global clients and 17.2m gross registered tonnage. There’s a great team already in place and I’m looking forward to driving forward our ethos of innovation and quality,” says Mitchell.
