Porto Montenegro becomes the first ‘Platinum marina’

Yacht homeport and marina village Porto Montenegro has become the first to be awarded the TYHA Platinum Marina award.

The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) Platinum Marina award was established last year to accredit the worlds best superyacht marinas. Porto Montenegro achieved this award for its 460-yacht capacity, waterfront residences, retail village, five-star hotel and restaurants and location.

Porto Montenegro’s marina director Tony Browne said: “When launching Porto Montenegro back in 2010, we had a bold vision to become the world’s leading superyacht marina… Being the first and only Platinum marina in the world today is a credit to the tireless dedication of the entire Porto Montenegro team, without whom none of this would be possible.”

TYHA and Marina Industries Association (MIA) operate the Gold anchor award scheme, A similar auditing process that has rated marina’s around the world for 25 years, the platinum award is achieved through the scheme. The Marina’s assesor Tony Dye said:

“The level of refinement at Porto Montenegro included on jetty air-conditioned waste facilities to prevent odours, on-site fire brigade team, state-of-the-art fuel service and high levels of environmental management. The concierge team are active 24-hours and the crew facility provisions exceeded expectations,especially with regard to leisure time.”
