Jim Acher

Jim Acher started his working life as a stockbroker in London for many years, before leaving finance to become the captain of a 72’ sailing catamaran in the Cayman Islands.
Many seasons later, Jim married and became shore-based, combining proven sales skills with a passion for yachting and was a superyacht sales and charter broker for almost 14 years.
With a partner, Jim started Master Asset Management in early 2019, specialising in the management of physical assets in the fields of aviation, yachts, estates, equestrian activities and collections of art, cars and wine.
Master Asset Management also acts as consultants in the areas of family, health and succession-planning.

Corey Adcook, Captain

Corey is a Yacht Captain with over 15 years experience in the luxury yacht sector. Most recent, Corey was involved in the new build of Feadship’s explorer style 76m M/Y Sherpa, He is now Captain of a 47m Classic Feadship. Corey has a keen interest in safety, team management and development, specifically encouraging collaboration, whilst also ensuring crew are given independence to develop their own skills. He particularly like methods and ideology from the business world & outstanding sports managers leadership styles.

Outside of work, Corey is a keen water sports enthusiast, including kite surfing, wakeboarding and enjoys spending time with his family and children.

Bob Allen
Founding Partner, Robert Allen Law

Robert N. (“Bob”) Allen, Jr., is the senior partner of Robert Allen Law, which focuses a significant part of its practice on the yacht industry. With offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and New York City, its legal team represents buyers, sellers, manufacturers, dealers, brokerages, and banks, with respect to superyachts throughout the world.

He serves as principal outside legal advisor to the International Yacht Brokers Association (“IYBA,” formerly FYBA) and was the primary drafter of the IYBA Purchase and Sale and Listing Agreements, which have become the standard industry forms in the U.S. and are increasingly used in cross-border transactions. His firm also serves as principal legal advisor to two of the largest yacht manufacturing groups in the world, with respect to their operations in the U.S. and the Americas.

He is contributor to Compass, the IYBA’s periodical publication, and a regular speaker at the IYBA’s seminars on legal issues related to the purchase and sale of yachts.

Bob received his law degree from the University of Notre Dame and his bachelor’s degree in International Relations from New College. He is fluent in Spanish.

Lewis Baglietto, Team Leader, Partner, Hassans

Lewis Baglietto is a Partner at Hassans and Team Leader of the firm’s Litigation Department. He is also a member of the firm’s Shipping Team.
On 12 June 2014, Lewis was appointed as Queen’s Counsel in Gibraltar.
Lewis read law at King’s College, London and at the Inns of Court School of Law. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales and the Gibraltar Bar in 1986 and joined the firm that year. He became a partner in 1993 and Head of Litigation in 2003.
His practice over the years has been wide-ranging, with a strong emphasis on international commercial disputes, maritime law and administrative law.
He has been involved in many of the leading Gibraltar cases in these areas over the past 25 years, acting for a wide range of local and overseas clients, including private individuals, corporations, Banks, Trustees, accountants, local and overseas state authorities as well as international organisations. Many of his cases are reported in the Gibraltar Law Reports.
He has also appeared as Counsel in cases of European significance in the European Court of Human Rights and the Privy Council, such as Bols v Superior Yacht Services [2006] UKPC 45, a leading case on jurisdiction agreements in a EU context and, more recently, in French v Public Prosecutor of Central Department of Investigation and Prosecution in Lisbon [2013] UKPC 16 concerning the EU Framework Decision on the European Arrest Warrant.
Lewis holds a number of public appointments in Gibraltar, including that of Chief Charity Commissioner and Chairman of the Mental Health Review Tribunal. He also sits as an ad hoc Chairman of the Industrial Tribunal.
He is consistently ranked as a “Leading” or “Band 1” litigator by major international lawyer directories and is commended for his “hands on” approach to cases. In the 2013 Legal 500 section on Gibraltar a source described him as being “every bit as good as his counterparts in London.”

Sara Ballinger

Sara has been working in people development since 1996. She is successful in training people at all levels in their chosen professions and in a wide range of industries. As a qualified coach Sara has successfully worked with managers and specialists who wanted to achieve goals, develop their career or manage their performance. In 2018 Sara launched Crew-Glue to improve cohesion on board through individual and team training that provides tangible and sometime life changing results.

Sara holds an undergraduate degree in the field of training and personal skills development with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development at Bournemouth University, is a qualified Performance Coach and TetraMap facilitator and accredited to the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Quentin Bargate
CEO, Bargate Murray, Luxury Asset Law Firm

Quentin Bargate qualified as a solicitor in 1981 and has since spent his entire career in top City of London law firms. He is head of the firm’s Superyachts group and is an expert in yacht contracts and other commercial contract work. Quentin also leads the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice.Quentin was a partner for over 14 years in Simmons & Simmons, one of London’s premier law firms. He was head of the firm’s International Trade and Shipping Group and a member of the Litigation Department and Arbitration Groups. At Simmons & Simmons, Quentin developed his specialised skills in superyacht/megayacht contracts and disputes as well as commercial shipping and trade.

In 2004, Quentin fulfilled a lifetime ambition when he set up his own law firm, Quentin Bargate & Co. (renamed Bargate Murray in 2006).Bargate Murray is highly ranked in the Chambers HNW 2019 Guide for ‘Yachts & Superyachts’, and the Guide recognises Quentin as a Leading Individual for his expertise in this practice. Craig Barnett
Sales & Marketing Manager (EMEA), Triton Submarines

Working in yachting media for the last two decades, Craig’s role in journalism and editorial content generation has led him from his native Wales, through extended stints living in the Middle East and Florida, to joining the Triton team in Barcelona. Just one dive in a Triton submersible off the Bahamas was all it took to convince him that the team and product are where his passion and professional future lies.
From personal watercraft through to megayachts, and as the founding Editor in Chief of INVICTUS Magazine, Craig has acquired a wide-aspect view of the leisure marine sector, from concept and design, through construction, operation, the yachting lifestyle and interaction with yacht owners, equipping him to contribute to the development of Triton’s communication, global visibility and the generation of sales.

Duncan Bateson
Partner, Ince Gordon Dadds LLP

Duncan undertakes superyacht and commercial shipping work advising private and commercial owners, banks and others on the full range of work, including sale and purchase, finance, new-buildings, charters, insurance, registration, management and joint ventures with related dispute resolution.

He has advised on superyacht issues for over 20 years. He works closely with many of the big brokerage houses in Monaco, London and the US, as well as independent brokers on the sale and purchase, and the construction of yachts. He also acts for banks and was instrumental in one of the firm’s marine finance panel appointments. He acted on the construction of a 160m+ superyacht in Germany, then the largest in the world.

His maritime career started with commercial shipping dispute resolution in the late 1980s, from which he established his then firm’s transactional shipping practice, particularly for Russian and Gulf owners, and later Greek shipping families.

Frederico Bazzani
Senior Manager, Deloitte

Federico is a Senior Manager of the Value Creation team in Italy. He started his career in Deloitte in 2013 and before joining the Value Creation Services team worked at Rocket Internet in Paris, a global listed fund that invests in fast-growing companies mainly across emerging countries.
Federico gained relevant international experience leading growth/ cost improvement strategies and pre and post deal assignments across different consumer and PE clients with a vertical focus on Fashion and Luxury markets.

Per Bjornsen
Managing Director, V.Ships Leisure

Per joined V.Ships Leisure in Monaco in 1997 and is responsible for the company’s services to the maritime leisure sector. He was member of the board of Fraser Yachts while V.Ships Leisure was a shareholder.

He was educated and the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy, Oslo Business School, the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law at the University of Oslo and INSEAD, France.

V.Group is today the world’s largest ship management and marine services company with a fleet of more than 1,000 vessels under technical and/or crew management. It is also a leading provider of third party ship management and other services to the maritime leisure industry including expedition and ultra-luxury cruise vessels as well as large yachts.

Olivier Blanchet
Head of Jet & Yacht Finance, BNP Paribas

A graduate of Paris-Dauphine University, Olivier joined BNP Paribas in 1993, where he developed skills in structuring, credit risk and project management acquired in Corporate Banking, with a focus on Asset Finance. His specialties include deals origination, structuring, risk management, reengineering and IT projects.

In 2002, he discovered that “God must have been a ship owner or a yacht owner because he placed raw materials and paradises far from where they were needed and covered 2/3 of the earth with water”. He then became a Maritime Banker and developed a sound international business relationships portfolio focused on commercial vessels and ship owners and in 2006, launched a dedicated offer for yacht financing in 2006. As Head of Yacht and Shipping Finance Services at BNP Paribas, Olivier works in close cooperation with the Wealth Management Department, and provides specialist guidance for his yacht financing team, particularly in marketing, structuring, loan documentation and compliance due diligence.

In June 2016, we decided to put on the same credit structuring platform the jet and yacht finance teams in order to develop new client experiences and create some synergies for their benefits. From that date, i run this platform where the share of experiences already had positive effects.

Karolina Blasiak

Richard Booth

Simon Brealey
Principle for Mechanical Engineering, Lateral Naval Architects

Simon Brealey is a Chartered mechanical engineer with 19 years experience of working within the marine design industry.

After starting his career working on the repair and refit of Royal Navy surface ships and nuclear submarines, 12 years ago Simon made the switch to the superyacht industry.

Within the superyacht industry Simon has worked for shipyards and design consultancies having been involved in the many new build yacht projects including Vava II, Jubilee and Bravo Eugenia. He is currently working on a number of 100m+ new build projects as Principal engineer- Mechanical for Lateral Naval architects.

Within his role at Lateral Naval Architects Simon leads a team of engineers providing a range of mechanical design services. These services include supporting shipyards and/or Owners through all phases of the design process from concept stage through to production engineering.

Simon’s particular specialities include the development of onboard piping systems, detailed technical space arrangements/planning and the specification of propulsion systems including the application of novel or new technology.

Richard Bridge
Bridge Yachting

Richard Bridge joined the British Merchant Navy after leaving school at 17, working on a variety of cargo ships as a cadet and junior officer before taking a position as navigator on a sail training ship. Progressing to passenger ships in 1991 he attained his Class 1 Master Mariner’s certificate in 1993 before sailing as Senior First Officer on Cunard’s QE2. Combining his experience of sailing and passenger ships he joined Windstar Cruises in 1997 and gained his first command at the age of 35 on the company’s MSY Wind Song.
Five years later, as super yachts increased in size, and required unlimited tonnage certification, Richard secured his first position on a superyacht taking command of the 126m MY “Octopus” for the final stages of the build. He went on to command some of the largest and most elite superyachts launched over the past 15 years (115m “Pelorus”, 162m “Eclipse”, 96m “Vava II”, 138m “Rising Sun”). He worked with helicopters, private jets and submersibles, as well as organising and overseeing operations at major events with VIP guests together with managing and motivating from 14 to 115 multi-national crew members.
During his time on superyachts he has explored the Indian Ocean, Indonesia, Australasia, South Pacific, Alaska, Patagonia and Antarctica as well as the more usual yachting destinations in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
In 2004 he coordinated and executed the project to find and film the wreck of a WW2 aircraft carrier at a depth of 1000m in the Mediterranean Sea, culminating in a 2-part BBC documentary.
His interests include snowboarding, competing in running and long distance cycling events and sailing his Oyster 435 whenever time permits.

Peter Broadhurst
SVP Safety & Security, Yacht & Passenger, Inmarsat

Peter started his career at Inmarsat in 2014 as Vice President of Service Delivery for the Maritime business unit, where he was responsible for leading the development of products and services from conception and implementation, through to launch and life cycle management. Peter was instrumental in the launch of Inmarsat’s high-speed broadband service Fleet Xpress launched in March 2016.

With over 25 years’ experience in the maritime industry, Peter began his career at sea as a Radio Officer, before running his own business and working for a maritime distributor. Peter then spent 15 years with Sea Tel Inc., / Cobham SATCOM as Vice President of Sales and Marketing where he was responsible for overseeing and managing global sales, support, marketing, training and product management.

Peter has a HND Electronics, Marine Radio General Certificate, Radar and Marine Navigation Aids accreditation from Wray Castle Merchant Navy School, and holds an Open University, BSc (Hons) First Class degree on Radio Frequency Systems.

Tony Browne
Marina Director, Porto Montenegro

Tony is a former superyacht captain with 10 years’ experience at sea, two circumnavigations of the globe and over 80,000 nautical miles of sailing under his belt to ports all over the world where he developed his interest in marinas.

Taking his experience of the varying standards of worldwide marinas, over the last 13 years, Tony has managed the Porto Montenegro Marina team from design and construction development, through to the ongoing operational aspects of this industry-leading Superyacht marina.

Tony is also the Chairman of the Board for the Global Marina Institute.

Michel Buffat
Head Aviation and Yacht Finance, Credit Suisse

Michel Buffat joined Credit Suisse in 2001 after having spent eight years at a blue chip Swiss engineering firm. Michel has held various corporate finance positions before he joined the aircraft and yachts finance team in 2005. There he has been serving the bank’s ultra high net worth clients in various positions, such as sales manager, head of transactions as well as responsible for portfolio and recovery management. Since 2018 Michel is heading the team and is in charge of Credit Suisse’s global aviation and yacht finance business. Michel is an active member of the wider business aviation community. Until 2018, he was chairing the EBAA AMAC Financier’s Subcommittee. He is regularly participating as speaker in CJI and other industry events.

Michel has built up the yacht finance business of Credit Suisse since its relaunch in 2014. He represents the bank in the longstanding partnership with the prestigious Yacht Club de Monaco and has brought it to the next level. Together with the club, he is driving common initiatives such as the Explorer Awards and the “La Belle Classe Blue Yachting” initiative for Superyachts.

Michel holds an MBA from the University of Rochester as well as a masters degree in mechanical engineering from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich.

Anthony Buneta
Head of Mega-Yacht & Jet Financing, Société Générale Private Banking

Having completed his masters finance degree in France and Australia, Anthony Buneta has joined Societe Generale Private Banking (Monaco) in early 2012. His career began within the Wealth Management branch of the bank by joining the Mega-Yacht financing team of the Monaco entity.

Developing his expertise in such specialized assets financing throughout the years, he has jointly and successfully set up the Business Jet financing offer of Societe Generale Private Banking (Monaco) in 2015.

Taking advantage of the strengths of this first rank banking group, Anthony focus on the business development of the Monaco entity. He deals on a day-to-day basis with worldwide new and existing clients and relies on a panel of expertise including luxury assets finance (Business Jet, Mega-Yacht and Real Estate), financial asset management or wealth planning with a strong commitment to these Ultra High Net Worth Individuals.

Paolo Casani
CEO, Camper & Nicholsons

Mr. Casani joins Camper & Nicholsons following an impressive career in the luxury goods and fashion sector - establishing himself with brands such as Armani, Valentino, Calvin Klein and Ferragamo.

In 2008, Mr. Casani used his experience and fused the luxury goods sector with the luxury yachting industry and joined Azimut/Benetti Group. Here, he pioneered the Yachtique Division before becoming CEO of Azimut Yachts. He truly established himself as a pioneering figure in the yachting industry.

In 2015, he joined Camper & Nicholsons as President and CEO. He brings with him a wealth of experience spanning all sectors of the luxury lifestyle industry. One of his first duties is to oversee Yachtster' a short-stay charter business for small to mid-size yachts acquired by the Camper & Nicholsons group, with a view to broaden its share of the global charter market.

Mr. Casani is currently based in Geneva and comments, "I look forward to working with the Board of Directors and the operational teams to consolidate our market position and tap into exciting market development opportunities."

Keith Chappell
Technical Director
Cyber Prism

Keith has worked in senior, hands-on cyber security roles for twenty years that include the cyber-attack protection of safety-critical systems on a wide range of vessels and critical national infrastructure, at home and abroad. He has worked for government security agencies and more recently with L-3 Technology. His work has included cyber security surveys on military and civilian vessels from OPVs to container ships, cruise ships and superyachts, and he has been involved in the subsequent remedial design and implementation of cyber-attack protection. Keith has developed and implemented technologies that allow Operational Technology (OT) equipment on vessels to be assessed, protected and monitored. He recently contributed to the latest BIMCO Cyber Security Guidelines for Shipping. Keith is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and is one of the very few to hold the CCP qualification CESG(GCHQ) Certified Professional at the highest Level, ‘CCP Lead Cyber Security and Information Assurance Auditor’.

Andrew Charlier
Partner, HFW

Prior to joining HFW, Andrew was the global head of yachting for another international law firm and he has over 25 years' experience advising clients on all aspects of the yachting industry, including the purchase and sale, construction, financing, chartering and registration of large yachts.
His practice also covers business aviation transactions namely negotiation and documentation of sales, purchases, finance and leasing, management, regulatory issues, corporate structuring and registration.
Industry guides regularly identify Andrew as market leader in yachting matters, citing his "huge amount of experience in yacht transactions" and "deep understanding of the industry". Will Christie

In short, I have been a yacht broker for 17 years. Have been at Y.CO for 10 years and Head of Sales here for 2 years.
I have been a yacht broker for 17 years, in early 2018 I was honoured to be asked to become head of sales for Y.CO worldwide, overseeing all our brokers who offer sales, purchase and new construction services. It’s a dynamic group of energetic individuals - a tight-knit team that really enjoys working together.

During my career thus far, I have been privileged and fortunate enough to represent some incredible clients in the sale, purchase and construction of some of the largest and most prestigious yachts afloat today. A selection of these are presented below. I certainly hope to add many more to this list in the future and look forward to many more exciting years ahead working in this fantastic industry.


Elise Ciappara
Head of Yacht Expeditions, Pelorus

Elise grew up on the coast of Pembrokeshire, Wales. She has been in the yachting industry for 10 years, working as chief and purser on world travelling yachts from 30 – 90 meters, both private and charter. During this time, she has sailed across the equator in the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic, over the Arctic circle, and crossed the Atlantic numerous times.
She holds her certificate of expertise in Scottish Whisky and she is currently studying for a Masters of Wine.
At PELORUS, Elise is Head of Yacht Expeditions, working with guests, captains and brokers to provide innovative and unique experiences around the world, always with conservation at the forefront.

Tim Clark
Director, MySea

Tim Clark began his yachting career by working on a number of private and charter yachts between 1989 and 2000 working up through the ranks to Captain with extensive cruising in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Indian Ocean. At the same time, winter periods were spent at Solent University in the UK to achieve a BSc in Maritime Studies and Yacht Manufacturing Technology.

After coming ashore in 2000, Tim joined Yachting Partners International as a junior broker gaining experience in all departments before joining Ocean Independence at its inception in 2005 as a senior charter broker and charter manager as well as assisting in expanding the business. In 2014, Tim joined the growing boutique charter and sales brokerage house MYSEA as Director of their London Office. Most recently in 2017, he additionally took an advisory marketing and sales role with Wahoo Ribs who supply custom built high performance Ribs to the Superyacht Sector and its sister company that specialises in Superyacht Tender refits. As an individual and corporate member of MYBA, Tim has also sat on the MYBA Charter Committee for the last 12 years whose principal task is to continually review the Internationally recognised MYBA Charter Agreement as well as holding an advisory role for the Antigua Charter Yacht Show.

Having detailed operational multi-faceted experience of the ‘coal face’ in the Superyacht industry is vital to fully understanding the demands and needs of both charterer and owner to truly manage expectations. It is also imperative to appreciate the changing fashions and trends in the UHNWI environment which further cements individual client relationships with discretion and trust.

Tim Clarke
Director, Quay Crew

From 2006 to 2007 Tim was lucky enough to spend two years as a deckhand on MY Sai Ram and MY Leander, two excellent charter yachts. After leaving yachting, Tim moved up to London for a career in recruitment. Tim worked predominantly in the Finance and Accounting sector supplying senior staff to a variety of clients including Barclays, HSBC, Goldman Sachs and Thomson Reuters. Quay Crew was set up in 2013 to provide a different recruitment service to yachts. Tim looks after the Captain roles whilst managing the team which is now 6 strong. One of the things Tim loves about his role is offering career and mentoring advice to Captains and senior Deck Officers. He also enjoys writing yachting related blogs which attempt to educate and guide crew in their chosen career.

Greg Coates

Greg heads Trident Trust’s specialist shipping team in its Isle of Man office. He has been working closely with professional advisors to implement corporate and trust vessel ownership structures for almost 20 years.

Henry Cookson
CEO & Founder, Cookson Adventures

Having discovered a boundless thirst for adventure, at the age of 27 Henry left his career at Goldman Sachs to take part in a 360 mile ski race to the Magnetic North Pole.

In addition to establishing a speed record for this feat, Henry also holds a Guinness World Record for being the first to reach the Antarctic Pole of Inaccessibility on foot. Since then he has gone on to organise and complete expeditions all over the world, from the Americas to the first commercial submersible dives in Antarctica.

Alongside his team at his company Henry Cookson Adventures, Henry continues to deliver truly extraordinary and creative expeditions worldwide. Recurrent themes can encompass exhilaration and conservation in the most remote corners of the globe, all the while fulfilling the fundamental mission; to provide the best possible luxury experiences.

Henry’s ambition and passion so far have challenged the unthinkable, and overcome the logistically impossible. Vicky Farrow is an experienced Sales Director with over 15 years in the marine industry working with some of the best-known luxury motorboat brands.

She began her career with Windy boats whilst working for Berthon. From there she moved to work with Princess, Sunseeker then onto Fairline and was a consultant for various other luxury motorboat brands. She has worked in Dubai, Qatar, South of France, Spain and the Seychelles to name but a few, where her luxury motorboat experience was further strengthened by selling Atlantis, Azimut, Benetti and Ferretti yachts.

Having grown up on the water – she owned her first boat at just six years old and by the time she was in her teens, she was teaching watersports, sailing and powerboating. Never one to shy away from helming, Vicky is a more than competent skipper and her boating experience has proved invaluable in her work.

Vicky’s passion for sales coupled with her love of boats has taken her all over the world and her goal is to utilise her expertise to drive marine businesses forward globally.

Iain Flockhart
Managing Director, Saor Alba Holdings Ltd

Iain is a highly experienced yacht captain with over 265,000 Nm in the role of Master since 1996. He bought and completely refitted his first yacht at the age of 20, and went on to buy a larger ocean going yacht a few years later and set sail across the oceans, often with novice crews.
As well as being a master, Iain provides professional mentoring services to yacht crew and advises on issues relating to hiring, managing and retaining the right crew.

After serving an exemplary 12 years in the British Army during which I lead various sail training expeditions around the world & raced at international level as an Army team captain.

I made the transition in 2003 to the superyacht industry where my military background ,discipline and training gave me a great foundation in which to move forward.

Having now been a captain in the superyacht industry for over 16 years, I have sailed and captained some of the largest private yachts in the world. Most recently as the owners representative I have project managed the build of an 85m Yacht from inception to delivery working closely with the owner and shipyard to ensure the yacht was delivered as contracted.

Ryan Green

“Ryan Green, Partner, Burgess Yachts. Ryan’s seagoing career began as research assistant conducting coral reef biodiversity assessments in Southern Africa and thereafter as a Divemaster in New Zealand. During his twelve years at sea on superyachts, Ryan progressed through the ranks from deckhand to captain working in both the private and charter sector. Andrew Holme

Andrew joined the Royal Marines in 1988 and having completed multiple global exercises and numerous specialist courses such as the Royal Navy Ships Diver, Military Ski Instructor, Aviation Ground Crew and Public Relations Management, Andrew concluded his service in 2001.

A desire to work within the superyacht industry led Andrew to Antibes where he quickly secured a role on board a private 70-meter yacht as part of the Deck Crew and as the vessels Close Protection Officer. After eighteen months in the sector, Andrew joined the maritime security industry as a Team Leader, completing over thirty successful and endorsed transits through the IRTC, High Risk Area and the South China Sea on commercial and private vessels.

Tim Johnson

Jacqueline Lyne

Jacqueline Lyne joined Edmiston & Company in 2007 to establish the Edmiston Yacht Management Division. As Director, she was responsible for the overall management of the division, and for developing and building the division as part of the Edmiston group of companies. As Director, she built a team of industry professionals, capable of delivering a top quality management service to the yachts in the Edmiston fleet. She was also responsible for establishing the new yacht construction project management division responsible for overseeing the build and project management of a range of new Superyachts.

In 2008, Jacqueline Lyne established Edmiston Crew Recruitment, which provides ongoing recruitment of trained and professional crew, and support, to the Edmiston management and charter marketing fleets.

Jacqueline Lyne moved into a new role at Edmiston as Director of Business Development in 2018, to identify and develop new business opportunities for Edmiston & Company.

Jacqueline Lyne has been actively involved in the yachting industry since 1997. She started out as a crewmember on board on both sailing and motor yachts, and sailed for 14 years, before establishing her own project management company in 2000, focussing on new yacht building projects.

Jacqueline Lyne has now worked on 26 new build and restoration projects ranging in length from 134m to 40m, including 10 Feadships (Madame Gu, Hampshire II, Tango, Halo and Ecstasea to name a few), S/Y Maltese Falcon, M/Y Serene, Haida 1929 and Malahne, amongst others.

Jacqueline Lyne has served as a judge on the board for the ISS Design Awards for a number of years, and is currently pursuing a postgraduate qualification in Executive Coaching and Mentoring.

Ben Lyons
CEO, EYOS Expeditions

Ben Lyons has spent his entire life captivated by ships and travel. As a Captain, travel writer and MBA, his unique set of skills allows him to mix his passion for travel and work. After graduating from Groton School in Massachusetts, Ben decided to follow his passion and attended the US Merchant Marine Academy. He served as an officer onboard a variety of vessels ranging from large cruise ships in Hawaii to cable ships installing undersea fiber optic systems.
In 2003, Ben was asked to join the Cunard Line’s Queen Mary 2 ocean liner, then under construction in France. Consequently, he became the first (and still only) American officer hired in the company’s over 170 year history. Ben served for five years onboard, leaving as the QM2’s Chief Officer.
An avid traveler to unusual, less developed regions, Ben has also been an active travel writer for over a decade. His articles and reviews appear in a wide range of guidebooks, magazines and newspapers.
After several years specializing in writing about expedition cruising, he traveled to Antarctica in 2007. Immediately, he fell in love with the seventh continent. Soon thereafter, he left Cunard to join Lindblad Expeditions in order to explore more of the world’s wild, polar regions.
Ben sailed on National Geographic Endeavour and National Geographic Explorer, first as Chief Officer and later as Captain.
Ben’s interest in the business of shipping and expedition travel spurred him to pursue his MBA, which he earned at Columbia Business School in his adopted hometown of New York City.

Robb Maass
Shareholder, Alley, Mass, Rogers & Lindsay

Robb Maass is a shareholder and president of Alley, Maass, Rogers & Lindsay, P.A., a full-service law firm with offices in Palm Beach, Florida. He holds an A.B. from Princeton University and a J.D. from Yale Law School. Mr. Maass heads the firm's Maritime Department, which specializes in yacht transactions. He and the other lawyers in his department represent a broad spectrum of the marine industry, including yacht owners, crew, manufacturers, dealers, brokers, and vendors. Geordie Mackay-Lewis

Both, Geordie and Jimmy Carroll (the other partner!) are ex British Army and have experience leading British reconnaissance units on long-range desert patrols and helicopter operations. The knowledge and skills they forged during these years lay the foundations upon which Pelorus is built.

Geordie spent a number of years as MD of a high-end adventure travel company and has planned and led a huge number of adventures and yacht expeditions around the world. Geordie is a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, a winter mountain leader, advanced diver, paragliding pilot and skydiver and served as a Captain in a British Army reconnaissance regiment, deploying twice to Afghanistan.

William MacLachlan

Peter Mellett

Peter Mellett is Managing Director, BankServe Insurance Services and has been involved in marine insurance as a broker for 39 years, with experience in all types of claims work. Since 1996 Peter has specialised in acting for ship finance institutions with particular emphasis on arranging contingent insurance protection for Mortgagees and advising on insurance issues during the workout process. Phil is a chartered engineer and member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and has been in the maritime industry for over 25 years. He has been with Cayman Registry since 2005 and is currently their Regional Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Cristabel Nye
Charter Broker, Camper & Nicholsons

Cristabel has been in the industry for 15 years, the last 11 years as a yacht charter broker. Working for Camper and Nicholsons (the oldest yachting company in the industry) she prides herself on the wealth of yacht/destination/logistical experience gained over the years.

In her role Cristabel advises clients which yacht to book by offering advice on the professional reputation of the vessel-details such as the reliability of the crew, the experience of the Captain and not least the condition of the yacht itself.
Over the years she has visited and sailed many of the yachts personally so has first-hand experience of the aspects which are vital to an enjoyable charter.
The destination and itinerary are equally important and her experience isn’t limited to the well documented waters of the Mediterranean or Caribbean. Cristabel in recent years successfully organised expedition charters with greater logistical challenges in places such as Antarctica, Raja Ampat in West Papua, Philippines, Tonga and Fiji to name but a few.

Cristabel is a member of MYBA ‘Mediterranean Yacht Broker’s Association’ and is an active member on the charter show committee.

Her love of yachting began as a child, sailing extensively with her family along England's east coast however more recently she has enjoyed sailing in warmer climates including Croatia, Greece and Turkey.

Charlotte Pedersen
Chief Executive Officer, Luxaviation Helicopters

Charlotte Pedersen is a Danish national with more than 25 years of experience in aviation. She was the first female to enter the prestigious military pilot program in the Danish Air Force in 1989 when the Armed Forces accepted female applicants to the program for the first time. Going through pilot training in the US Navy as a helicopter pilot, she graduated on the Commodores list in the top 20 out of 1000 pilots.

Charlotte continued her military career attending the Officers Academy and occupying several higher staff positions - amongst others, being responsible for Helicopter Safety Equipment and Training, Instructor in the Water Survival Programme for military flight crews and HUET Underwater Instructor as well as Instructor for Medical Personnel Operational Training (Open Water hoist Training), while still flying search and rescue missions. After her military services, Charlotte worked for the Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA) in Luxembourg as a Flight Operations Inspector for both Helicopters and Fixed Wing. She maintained her flying status flying Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) in France on a part-time basis. During this period, Charlotte also participated on a volunteer basis for the European Aviation Safety Agency in working groups focusing on Helicopter Safety (EHSIT) and Human Factors (EHFAG).

Charlotte joined Luxaviation in 2012 and was nominated Chief Operating Officer of the Luxaviation Group in 2014. In 2016 Charlotte Pedersen was promoted to CEO of Luxaviation Helicopters which is part of the Luxaviation Group. The helicopter company is a worldwide organization managing VIP helicopters for private and business clients, specialized in helicopter management and yacht operations with focus on exceptional high safety, security and quality standards. Charlotte holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Strategic Management (Graduated with Honours).
Captain Gordon Percy

I have worked in the Yachting industry for over 30 years, on both sail and power vessels. I have sailed extensively in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, the States, and many other areas further afield, having completed two world circumnavigations. I was very fortunate to run the “Twizzle” programme for over 20 years and in this time I had the privilege of being part of the 2006 award winning build team of Motor Yacht Twizzle at Devries , and again on Sailing Yacht Twizzle in 2010 with Royal Huisman. I am presently the Captain on MY Stella Maris, a 72m VYS on a world-wide cruise.
Panos Pourgourides

Working in every country that C&N Marinas has been active, Mathieu’s design and engineering skills have been called on to deal with environmental issues from tropical hurricanes to winter sea ice. He has been instrumental in the creation and evolution of marinas that accommodate everything from small day boats to the largest of superyachts.

Jotham Scerri-Diacono

Jotham Scerri-Diacono is a Partner within GANADO Advocates’ Shipping team, with particular focus on ship registration, shipping litigation and maritime law generally. Jotham also regularly advises and assists clients on corporate law and dispute resolution. Jotham sits on a number of Committees and Boards involved in maritime and environmental law. He lectures and is an examiner at the University of Malta on topics dealing with shipping and advocacy. He regularly writes and contributes articles on maritime law in various local and international journals. He has acted for major banks, owners and buyers in arrest and sale of vessels in Malta. He regularly assists clients with the registration of yachts under the Malta Flag.

Adam Sebba
Chief Executive, Cookson Adventures

Adam Sebba has a broad operating background in luxury including fashion, premium spirits and travel. As Chief Executive of Cookson Adventures, he has steered the company to become the market leading luxury adventure travel brand at a time when experiential travel is a prevalent and growing trend among UHNWs.

Before joining Cookson, he worked for management consultancy firm AlixPartners and worked for multiple private equity backed businesses and public companies. He left to run the luxury fashion brand Antonio Berardi, and then joined Diageo’s venture capital arm Distill Ventures as an investment director, where he advised several premium and high growth brands. He started his career in the British Army, and has an MBA from Imperial College.

Jim Simpson
Managing Director, Aviation & Marine, First Republic Bank

Jim joined First Republic Bank in March 2006 in his current position as Managing Director of Aviation & Marine Finance. Since joining, Jim has built a team that has originated, closed, and funded over half a ($US) billion in aviation and marine secured transactions for First Republic Bank’s high net worth clients. Because of the focus on understanding the client’s business and alternative asset categories, Jim and his team customize the transactions that suit their clients’ specific needs.

Prior to joining First Republic Bank, he was a regional manager for Bank of America Equipment Finance and Leasing where he managed team of 14 professionals and support staff located throughout the Western United States. While at Bank of America, he worked on a variety of aviation finance transactions for its commercial airline and corporate clients. Jim is a pilot who began flying aircraft in high school. He graduated from Boston University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance.

James Stockdale

James is the founder and CEO of Pinpoint Works. With a degree in Naval Architecture and an affinity for sailing, he entered the yachting industry with a high level of technical knowledge and a passion for all things “boat”. Over ten years as crew and Captain, he managed numerous shipyard periods including warranties and new builds. It was while managing a new build in 2014 that he developed the idea for Pinpoint Works. James understands the importance of good organization and clear communication and his aim is to share the benefits of Pinpoint Works to other industry professionals.

Mike Stones

Eric Stride

Eric Stride, a 17-year veteran leader in information security, including 12 years in the U.S. Air Force and at the National Security Agency (NSA), serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Atlas Cybersecurity. He is responsible for developing Atlas’ cutting-edge technical solutions, as well as managing its team of expert analysts. Eric brings significant technical and leadership experience throughout the domain of cyber operations, having led elite operational teams throughout the military and intelligence community. Eric is an alumnus of NSA’s prestigious Computer Network Operations Development Program. He has developed capabilities for both the military and the intelligence community. He co-authored the first U.S. Air Force weapons & tactics manual addressing offensive cyber operations and was the first Numbered-Air-Force level offensive cyber evaluator. Malcolm Taylor

Building on his successful career in UK government on security and intelligence issues, Malcolm has joined G3, a cyber security and business intelligence firm. He is responsible for high-level client engagement and running a range of risk advisory projects. Malcolm has extensive experience of the sector, having worked operationally for the government at home and abroad (including in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq). He brings vast and varied experience of working with public and private leaders (including UK and foreign Ministers, Ambassadors and CEOs). His rare ability to present complex technical and operational issues with clarity enables effective decision making by the most senior individuals. Malcolm has deep expertise in Counter Terrorism, security and intelligence issues, and is a recognised South Asia expert.

Michelle has worked in insurance for over 25 years and started her career in corporate private medical insurance in the UK before moving into Superyacht insurance with Pantaenius Monaco.

Michelle has been at Pantaenius Monaco for 13 years and is responsible for managing the Superyacht team – sales, underwriting and policy administration. The Monaco office is the 2nd biggest office in the group and one of the leading providers of yacht insurance in Europe.

Michelle has extensive experience in the delivery of customer and claims services, underwriting & product development and the management of client relationships.

Toby Walker
Sales Area Manager, Benetti

Toby Walker was a yacht broker for 20 years, being Global Sales Director at Camper & Nicholsons, and running his own company, Stockbridge Yacht Brokers, from 2013 until 2016. He then joined the Benetti shipyard in his current role of area Sales Manager. One of Toby’s first brokerage sales was a Benetti; his first ever new-build project a Benetti, and his most recent new project as a broker was a Benetti. It is true to say Toby has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with the yard; one he now hopes to strengthen by being part of their global sales force.

Mike Wimbridge,
Global Underwriter, Pantaenius Yacht Insurance

Mike began his insurance career in 1987 initially working for the Royal Insurance Group before entering the marine world by joining Radcliffe and Company in 1989. This was his first step on what has become a 30 year career in the yacht Insurance market. During that time Mike has been both an insurance broker and an underwriter. Mike has worked for much of his career in Lloyd’s of London and, including spells with Marsh, AIG, BRIT and Markel, he has been involved in all aspects of superyacht underwriting and Broking and is extremely well known within the industry. In 2019 Mike joined Pantaenius, one of the leading specialists in Yacht Insurance, and works as a global underwriter for them. His work takes him all over the world visiting their 10 offices and attending, and presenting, at industry events.

The Revd Canon Andrew Wright
Secretary General, Mission to Seafarers

The Revd Canon Andrew Wright was educated in Oxford, at The University of St Andrews, where he studied Theology, and in Cambridge where he prepared for ordination in the Church of England.

He first served as curate in Liverpool’s challenging estates of Norris Green and Croxteth, moved to a parish in Carlisle for his second post and then became Vicar of St James with St Thomas, Wigan (the parish with the pier!), also working as Chaplain to Wigan Hospice. In 1991 he returned to Oxford as Chaplain, Head of Religious Studies and Housemaster at St Edward’s School. In 2007 he was appointed as Mission Chaplain and Director of Operations at the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen.

In February 2013 he was appointed Secretary General of The Mission to Seafarers, with the responsibility of leading this global charity through a period of extensive change. The Mission to Seafarers provides welfare support to seafarers in around 200 ports in 50 countries. It has also launched a range of new projects, including its Seafarer Family Support Networks and the Seafarer Happiness Index. Alongside his responsibilities at The Mission, he is also currently Chairman of the International Christian Maritime Association, the umbrella body bringing together most of the organisations engaged in front-line maritime welfare.

Beyond his work he has a range of interests, including sailing, long distance trekking, cycling and keeping his 30-year-old VW Campervan on the road! He has been heavily involved in drama, both as actor and director, and his writing has included published travel articles. He also enjoys politics, poetry and history. He is married and has a son, three daughters and three grandchildren.
