Large fire breaks out at Ferretti shipyard

A large fire has damaged multiple vessels in Ferretti’s Cattolica-based shipyard in north eastern Italy. The blaze broke out this morning, January 11th, 2022 onboard a yacht under construction in one of the yard’s warehouses.

According to local media outlet, Corriere di Bologna, the source of the fire is currently under investigation. Firefighters asked the Carabinieri police and Arpae technicians, who were also on scene, to assist in assessing the damage caused by the fire.

There have been no injuries reported. There has also been no damage reported to the structure of the warehouse, but firefighters will complete the checks to confirm today.

It is understood the Ferretti shipyard are also due to release a statement on the incident today.
