Sunreef Yachts has continued further expansion this year with the opening of a new sales office in Istanbul, Turkey. This follows the beginning of construction of a new office and shipyard in the United Arab Emirates last month.

The Polish shipbuilder adds the new Turkish and UAE offices to its two offices in Poland and one in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Having recently joined Sunreef Yachts’ sales team, Beril Sümen will head the shipyard’s new Istanbul base.

Francis Lapp, founder, and president said: “Recent trends clearly show that yachting is heading east. I am proud of our new office in Istanbul, bringing us closer to our Turkish customers.”

Monaco, France and Italy may hold the classic yachting destination, but Turkey continues to draw increasing attention from the superyacht industry with its growing list of wealthy individuals. Last year, Turkey recorded Gross Domestic Product growth of 11%, the highest out of the G20 countries. According to Credit Suisse’s Global Wealth Databook, there were more than 115,000 Turkish millionaires in 2020.

Sunreef will be hosting clients and press on its yachts during different events in Turkey. The first will be the Bosphorus Cup in late September and at the Avrasya Boat Show, location in December.
