MarineMax will be the exclusive broker of Wider Yachts catamarans in North America following a new partnership. Both companies expect the Italian-built yachts to enter the North American market next year.

Wider Yacht’s catamaran division currently has five units of its 92ft (28m) WiderCat92 series (pictured) under construction, which are expected for delivery in 2023 and 2024. Two have already been sold to American owners. All models are equipped with hybrid electric/diesel propulsion.

We are thrilled to be working with MarineMax,” said Marcello Maggi, W-Fin Sarl, the holding company that owns 100% of Wider Yachts. “Their vast network of dealerships and deep experience with yachting and yachtsmen is unsurpassed in the American market.”

Aside from the serial production superyachts, such as its flagship Wider 200 series, the Italian shipbuilder is currently working with Nauta Design on the custom project, Moonflower 72.

With more than 100 locations worldwide, MarineMax is one of the largest boat dealerships in the world. The American boat supplier has been busy this year. Last month the company secured loans of $1.35bn to support its growth. It used $400m of this to finance the cash acquisition of IGY Marinas.

Chuck Cashman, chief revenue officer, MarineMax, said: “[Wider Yachts’] unique offering fits perfectly in our brand line-up, and I know our customers, and team members for that matter, will be excited to get some hands-on interactions with the new WiderCat 92.”
